On Sunday, March 28,2010, Abundant Life Church in Holbrook celebrated their Recovery Program Anniversary with a luncheon given right after services.The celebration began with Pastor Bonita Pettis taking the podium and speaking about what the Recovery Program is all about, giving the general outline of what can be expected when you choose to attend the program and the days and hours the program is available at the Tabernacle. Then Kathy Carbone was asked to take the podium and gave a very moving speech about what her life was like before she entered Abundant Life and the program, and how it has changed her life. After Kathy was done speaking, John Rose was then presented with an award for 14 years of dedication of himself to the program, and John gave a speech summarizing how he became addicted to drugs and alcohol and how he was able to help himself recover and stay clean through the program,even though he struggled with it for years. Then after John was through speaking, Pastor Helen Asked Pastor Bonnie up to the podium and thanked her for her dedicated service and well organized and structured running of the Recovery Program. Pastor Helen thanked Pastor Bonnie for all the years she put in to make the Recovery Program a success. Immediately afterwards the luncheon began, and everyone had a chance to eat and fellowship.And a good time was had by all!
