June 2010 Message from Pastor Matthew

The Anointing: Are we ready to sacrifice our lives for it?

God has put on my heart that we are either going to sacrifice our lives for his anointing, or we are going to sacrifice his anointing for our lives.

God has called each of us to present our bodies as living sacrifices( Romans 12:1). We don't slaughter ourselves, as the old testament priests slaughtered animals for sacrifice. But we do sacrifice our lives, by submitting to the Holy Ghost, and denying our flesh. Are we ready to do this? Are we ready to sacrifice time that we could have had for leisure to get involved in the Church and truly see the vision for souls to get saved and delivered? We all have a part in this. It's not to say we can't ever enjoy vacations or time for special events. But we need to make sure we are putting God 1st, and not making excuses why we can't be involved in helping the work of the kingdom.

Elisha admired the anointing of Elijah, and Elisha wanted double that anointing. Elisha knew it wasn't about a fancy title or glamorous job that Aloud had. Aloud had a calling to be a Prophet, and it meant to nurture that anointing, Elijah needed to sacrifice his life for God- spending time in prayer to hear God's voice, and submitting to God, even when it required stepping out in faith and sacrificing his life for the Kingdom.

The Men of God I admire in the word, and in the Church now all have a great anointing that I know did not come without a price of sacrifice. I want that anointing also, because I know sacrifice now is only temporal compared to God- eternity.

Just because you have a gift does not mean, it's anointed. There are singers who sing in the world, and they have nice voices, but they are not anointed!

I used to be a DJ on the radio- and many liked my voice, but it was not anointed. Now, when I speak, God has anointed my voice by his Grace- big difference! I need that anointing to be effective. The anointing as we know- breaks the yoke!

Are we ready to sacrifice for God's anointing, which is his empowerment?!

As we know, Jesus said " The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach deliverance to the captives" Luke 4:18. But we know Jesus was all about sacrifice.

The same anointing that Jesus had is available to all of us now for the work of the Kingdom. How badly do we want it???
